Job Summary The Service Technician in the Industrial Technologies and Services Division installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains rotary screw and reciprocating air compressors, including Centac and ECC models, along with compressed‑air system components. Precision measuring tools are used for diagnostic troubleshooting, and knowledge of equipment operations and parts manuals is required. Responsibilities Ensure correct installation, maintenance, and field repair of Ingersoll Rand equipment at customer sites. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of installation and repair requirements. Provide technical advice and train customers, potential customers, field salesmen, and trainees. Diagnose problems, recommend corrective action, and submit accurate records and reports. Maintain integrity in handling business affairs. Communicate service information concisely and logically. Submit detailed technical reports suitable for billing. Submit accurate, detailed expense account records and timecards weekly. Basic Qualifications 2–5 years’ experience troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems; compressed‑air system experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent; relevant coursework in electrical, HVAC, or controls preferred. Valid driver’s license with at least 12 months of clean record. EPA 608 / F‑GAS 303/2008/CE/ISHRAE certification preferred. Physical Requirements Work in diverse conditions, including noisy equipment rooms, extreme weather, precarious places, and high‑voltage environments. Regular hand, finger, walking, stooping, kneeling activity and lifting/moving weight within safety limits. Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements Occasional travel for training: 1–2 times per year, up to one week. Included in on‑call rotation for emergencies; may work evenings or weekends during on‑call weeks. Key Competencies Proficiency with Microsoft Office, handheld computers, and basic networking. Customer service skills: conflict resolution, communication, negotiation. Cost‑efficient business travel practices. Mechanical competency in diagnosing compressor systems and machinery. The total pay range for this role, including incentive opportunities, is $45,000–$120,000.
