2026 Salary Range: $89,508 - $138,370 yearly including locality pay

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a logistics management specialist in support of sustainment phases of assigned systems, programs, or major equipment.

Duties:

1. Serves as a logistics project lead/manager, conducting organizational and process related studies and analysis of organizations, functions, and work processes to improve mission effectiveness, resource allocation and efficiency, functions, and work processes to improve mission effectiveness, and resource allocation by executing expert evaluations, advising senior leadership on federal program execution, and applying rigorous fact-finding and investigative techniques to resolve complex operational constraints.

2. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics management related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs through the strategic integration of organizational goals, the design of responsive policies and procedures, and the utilization of metrics to evaluate resource utilization and balance overall mission requirements.

3. Participates in special logistics related operation projects and initiatives and performs special assignments by proactively identifying project milestones, conducting in-depth research to resolve unresolved or high-impact technical issues, and delivering detailed analytical responses and recommendations to command and agency leadership.

4. Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations to establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships while actively collaborating with key customers and coordinating officials to assess satisfaction, deliver functional training, and resolve significant systemic problems.

Recruitment Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Extensive knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing.

2. Master knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance.

3. Extensive knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition., supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.

4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations.

5. Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution.

6. Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required.
