Principal Software C/C++ Engineer

Senior Software Engineer – Marlborough, Massachusetts Location Marlborough, Massachusetts (US-MA-MARLBOROUGH) Job Type Onsite. Clearance Requirements U.S. citizenship required. Candidates must hold or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret clearance (interim clearance permitted) prior to start date. Responsibilities Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development, and testing of real‑time embedded software, application software, and tools; develop new work products or enhance existing applications and systems. Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions. Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems. Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering. Follow established development practices and processes to maintain configuration management of software products. Qualifications You Must Have Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, where not prohibited by local law. Experience with C++, C, and/or Java. Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. government issued interim Secret security clearance prior to the start date; U.S. citizenship required. Qualifications We Prefer Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, systems software design, operating systems, architecture, and software development life cycle and processes. Experience in software development with Windows and Linux operating systems, GIT, Jira, Jenkins, Perl, Bash, and KornShell. Experience developing software in a team‑based environment, preferably Agile/SCRUM, DevOps and test automation. Strong problem‑solving and communication skills, ability to produce technical documentation, and desire to learn new technologies and tools. Ready to travel domestically and internationally. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with coworkers and with colleagues who represent multiple work styles and conflict resolution approaches. Compensation Salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD, based on experience, role, and location.
