Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: On-site, Cleveland, OH, 44106 Pay: $24/hour Hours: Monday Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM Length: Contract, 3-months with the potential to hire based on performance Join a dynamic team as an Accounts Payable Specialist and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth processing of vendor payments across multiple organizations. What You'll Do:
- Review, verify, code, and enter vendor bills into the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Process and reconcile transactions for multiple entities, maintaining precise records.
- Schedule and execute disbursements via checks, ACH, or wire transfers while monitoring due dates.
- Build strong relationships with vendors by addressing inquiries, resolving billing issues, and updating contact and tax information.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies to keep records accurate.
- Prepare and file annual 1099 forms and support external reporting requirements.
- Maintain organized files for audits, month-end closing, and compliance processes.
- Collaborate with team members to support overall finance operations.
Must Haves:
- Minimum of 2 years AP processing experience, preferably with high volume transactions
- Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Teams
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to independently manage workloads
- Fast learner with a positive attitude
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in high-volume accounts payable processing.
- Proficiency with AP platforms and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities independently and effectively.
- Experience with Teams is a plus.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Previous experience working with third-party invoice processing systems like Avid Exchange.
- Basic knowledge of general ledger reconciliations.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field is a plus.
- Experience in medium-sized companies with over 250 employees.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to undergo background check, drug screening, and TB testing.
- Ability to work onsite Monday to Friday, 8 AM 5 PM, with a half-hour unpaid lunch.
- Capability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
