Information Technology Specialist 2 (Programming)

Responsibilities Analyze and gather requirements for current and future processes. Design/create database structures including PL/SQL, tables, packages, procedures, functions. Design/create websites, APIs, and batch processes. Engage in all phases of the system development lifecycle. Integrate security measures into coding practices. Aid in optimizing performance and addressing security vulnerabilities in applications. Investigate and resolve service tickets by analyzing data and processes to identify the root cause of the issue. Collaborate closely with the team to establish continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automate deployment processes. Minimum Qualifications Reachable on current Civil Service eligible list for this title; OR One year of permanent, competitive class service as an Information Technology Specialist 2; OR One year of permanent, competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law; OR NYSIF employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 1; OR Bachelor's or higher-level degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science; OR Bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field AND one year of experience in information technology; OR 60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science AND one year of experience in information technology; OR Two years of experience in information technology. Note: Certain math and business courses, although taken as part of a computer science curriculum, are not counted towards the 15 semester credit hours.
