Divisional Vice President of Operations

We are currently seeking a Vice President of Operations to join our Village and guide the operations of our dialysis services business across Northern California or the Pacific North West. As the Vice President of Operations (General Manager), you will lead a team of 5‑7 direct reports, ~70 centers (chronic dialysis centers and home dialysis programs) with annual revenues of ~$350+M and 700+ teammates. This onsite role requires travel throughout the territory. This Division is part of a larger group: Team Polaris. Team Polaris as a whole is a $1.5B+ business with approximately 7,000 teammates. As a key member of DaVita’s field management team, the Vice President of Operations is responsible for the general management and oversight of operations within an assigned division. The role provides strategic, tactical, and team leadership, counsel, and direction to the field management of DaVita to ensure safe, efficient, therapeutic, and ethical patient care. Additionally, the position identifies and develops strategic growth opportunities, leads division performance, and works closely with the Group Vice President and business development team to develop competitive strategies in alignment with DaVita’s mission and values. Responsibilities Provide leadership to direct reports and the division team, including supervision, development, and accountability for performance Oversee and manage all teammate employment activities, including hiring, promotion, performance evaluation, compensation, relations, disciplinary actions, and terminations Develop and execute strategic operating plans and goals for the assigned division; this includes: Track metrics and success criteria, including ROI for all activities Analyze current center trends impacting patient service delivery Review, analyze and address gaps in service excellence, policies, and procedures proactively; identify issues and implement solutions Lead the creation and implementation of teammate development processes and succession planning, including mentoring, coaching, and modeling appropriate leadership behaviors Manage financial and revenue growth, operations, labor management, contract management, and clinical outcomes within the division Fulfill strategic responsibility for the development and implementation of proactive programs, operational improvements, communications, and other division‑specific general management responsibilities related to all modalities (chronic, acute, PD, home) Maintain awareness of competition; proactively assess related SWOT and implement effective responses Leverage the DaVita acute strategy for entry into additional hospital joint ventures and participate actively in joint‑venture business meetings where applicable Lead the business development process for division operations and maintain liaison relationships between the corporate office and field operations Develop positive work relationships with all levels of management and other departments in the Village, collaborating with field management, legal, finance, and others Maintain open communication with the GVP regarding oversight of Field Operations Develop and maintain a team of knowledgeable, skilled teammates (including management) who comply with all regulatory requirements and the DaVita mission and values Travel required: Weekly Requirements Strong alignment with our Mission and Values Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred; MBA strongly preferred Prior experience in management consulting Minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience Strong leadership acumen and successful team management and development Demonstrated track record of successful fiscal and operating leadership; demonstrated financial expertise Healthcare industry background is a plus Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel required; intermediate skills and proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint required Benefits Comprehensive benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid time off, PTO cash out Support for you and your family: Family resources, EAP counseling sessions, access to Headspace, backup child and elder care, maternity/paternity leave and more Professional development programs, including on‑demand virtual leadership and development courses through the DaVita online training platform StarLearning Performance‑based rewards based on stellar individual and team contributions Clinical outcomes consistently ranked above the national average Salary Range: $200,000.00 – $325,000.00 per year.
