Senior Vice President

Reporting to the COO, this Senior Vice President is responsible for the overall operation of several hundred accounts across Northern California. The role involves leading, managing, and inspiring a team of senior leaders to set the culture for excellent customer service, operational excellence, and innovative solutions that meet client requirements. You will partner with peers to deliver on the Canteen mission, support Key Performance Indicators, and sustain and grow our business in a dynamic, rapidly evolving environment. Passion and knowledge of logistics, distribution, the Bay Area culinary scene, and a tech‑oriented client base are essential for success in this game‑changing role. This role is based in the East Bay Area and will operate out of either Hayward (preferred) or Fremont. Key Responsibilities Lead, manage, and inspire a diverse team of district managers and/or regional directors of operations. Develop a culture of safety, customer obsession, innovation, curiosity, and proactiveness. Lead the organization through large‑scale change. Drive self and team toward building strong relationships with clients at all levels and achieving key performance indicators. Serve on the Pacific Division leadership team, influencing and leading division‑wide operations and regularly communicating with peers. Own key regional decisions with team input, weighing risks and rewards and considering short‑ and long‑term implications. Model strategic, thoughtful, and persuasive communication. Set the tone for the organization’s culture in the region and regularly meet with the extended team to ensure transparency, education, safety, accountability, and alignment. Represent the Canteen team as a brand ambassador to senior clients in the region and act as an escalation point. Partner with sales and retention teams to drive growth strategy, structure deals, present new business, build relationships with prospective clients, and negotiate key contract terms. Collaborate with key partners on regional and nationwide initiatives. Ensure compliance with all safety, QA, company policy, and other program requirements. Champion regional development, conduct performance evaluations and succession planning, and maintain a full understanding of all roles within operations. Own regional financial results/P&L, and work with the leadership team to ensure accurate reporting, forecasting, and budgeting. Ensure consistent and fair administration of all policies and procedures. Oversee and shape employee engagement, retention, and succession planning efforts. Recognize and anticipate marketplace trends and participate in strategic planning meetings. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business or a related field, or 12+ years of progressive experience in multi‑unit foodservice, hospitality, culinary product development, or warehouse operations management. Experience with office coffee, pantry, micro‑markets, vending, and/or logistics, transportation, or similar consumer product industries. Strong background in senior leadership roles with contract, budget, and P&L management, customer service, people development, negotiations, culinary, and innovation experience. Exceptional leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills. Strong track record of meeting and exceeding sales and profit objectives. Demonstrated contribution to significant growth and success of an organization. Evidence of growing a business and leading large cross‑functional teams. Excellent business and financial acumen. Ability to think quickly, analytically, strategically, and accurately. Expert client relationship management, influencing, listening, and communication skills. Inclusion mindset, proactive, positive, professional, flexible, and resilient. Strong record of driving associate and customer satisfaction. Proven ability to develop and implement new business models. Ability to work effectively in an unstructured, fast‑paced, and profit‑driven environment. Travel within the Bay Area required; occasional non‑local travel.
