Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant  to support our client’s medical facility in Poughkeepsie, NY.  This is a 5+ month contract assignment (convertible to permanent based on your work performance). And a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organisation!

Specific Duties:

• Provide direct patient care within the established area of practice and assist MDs with clinical procedures.
• Perform clinical duties within scope of practice while following CareMount Medical and departmental standards, policies, and protocols.
• Provide proactive, patient-centered care; identify individual patient/family needs and communicate them promptly to the appropriate provider.
• Direct and escort patients to exam rooms and assist physicians, mid-level providers, and nurses with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
• Perform authorized clinical procedures, including vital signs, vision screening, selected laboratory tests, EKGs, and point-of-care (POC) testing , as directed by the physician or nurse.
• Prepare e-prescriptions for pharmacy processing when instructed; seek physician/nurse guidance when necessary and maintain compliance with established policies.
• Inspect, clean, prepare, and process instruments/equipment ; process laboratory specimens for transport, ensuring proper labeling and appropriate orders are entered in NextGen .

Requirements :

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Experience in a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting .
• Current nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification from one of the following agencies: NAHP, NCCT, AAMA, AMT, NHA.

Location: Poughkeepsie, NY
Job Type: 5+ months Contract
Schedule: Shift start & end times: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday
Pay Range: $20-$23/hr. on W2
*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
