Position Summary

The Used Equipment & Inventory Coordinator is responsible for the full lifecycle of incoming used Rad Source Xray Equipment and Components — from intake and inspection through a sell ability determination, and if warranted, hands-on dismantling, component testing, and restocking into parts inventory. This is a physically active, hands-on role that combines mechanical aptitude, inventory discipline, coordination of internal customer requirements, scheduling of internal resources, along with sound judgment about the resale or salvage value of Rad Source Xray Equipment and its components.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving & Assessment

• Coordinate incoming used machines; verify shipment against Sales Orders, RMAs, bills of lading, and equipment manifests.
• Relocation of equipment and components to designated area via hand cart, pallet jacks, forklift, and/or rigging equipment
• Inspect each machine's mechanical, electrical, and structural condition, including key components and wiring,
• Operate or test-run machinery where safe to do so in order to evaluate functionality, and document findings with photos, notes, and condition ratings.
• Determine sell ability by weighing age, condition, market demand, and repair cost against resale value, and recommend whether a unit should be resold intact, refurbished, or parted out.
• Escalate borderline or high-value assessments to the Operations Manager or a certified equipment appraiser for a formal valuation.

Dismantling & Component Recovery

• Safely dismantle equipment identified for parting out, using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and rigging equipment in accordance with lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Drain and properly contain fluids, and lubricants prior to disassembly, and route hazardous materials for compliant disposal or recycling.
• Remove, tag, and stage recoverable components for testing.
• Break down remaining frames and non-recoverable structures for scrap, sorting ferrous and non-ferrous metal for maximum scrap value.

Component Testing & Quality Control

• Bench-test recovered components for functionality (continuity, pressure, rotation, calibration, etc.) using appropriate test equipment and gauges.
• Grade tested components as sellable, needs-repair, or scrap, and record test results and condition notes for each part.
• Clean, package, and label components appropriately to protect against corrosion, damage, or loss of small hardware during storage.

Inventory Management & Restocking

• Process incoming machines, dismantled components, and scrap material into the ERP system with accurate descriptions, condition grades, and bin/shelf locations.
• Return for restocking tested components into parts inventory in an organized, and update quantities.
• Monitor physical inventory counts and reconcile demand levels with salvage decisions.
• Maintain accurate records of in-process machines and parts for inventory planning.

Safety & Facility Support

• Follow all safety protocols for rigging, lifting, machine dismantling, and hazardous material handling, including proper PPE use at all times.
• Keep the receiving area, dismantling area, and parts warehouse organized, clean, and free of hazards.
• Report equipment damage, safety concerns, or environmental issues to management promptly.

Physical Demands

This role is physically demanding and performed primarily on an industrial shop floor and warehouse environment. Requirements include:

• Regularly lifting and carrying components and tools weighing up to 50 lbs., and safely using hoists, forklifts, or rigging equipment for heavier machine sections.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching to access, inspect, and dismantle machinery of varying sizes and configurations.
• Standing and walking for extended periods on concrete or metal shop flooring.
• Working with hand and power tools, hoists, dollies, and rigging equipment in a shop and yard setting.
• Exposure to machine oils, coolant, grease, dust, noise, and varying indoor/outdoor temperatures.
• Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection, at all times on the shop floor.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial equipment, machine shop, maintenance, or salvage/dismantling work, or equivalent mechanical background.
• 2 years’ experience in industrial equipment wiring, PLCs, networks and electronics.
• Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and basic rigging or hoisting equipment.
• •Ability to read and interpret schematics, parts diagrams, or equipment manuals.
• Strong computer literacy for inventory system data entry, along with MSWord, Excel, Outlook,
• Ability to meet the physical demands described above, including regular lifting, bending, and standing.
• Adaptability to a changing production demand while maintaining focus on customer satisfaction.
• Ability to work alone or in small teams while maintaining schedule and quality

Preferred

• Experience with High Voltage Power Supplies, and Xray equipment or other industrial machine tools.
• Forklift and/or overhead crane certification.
• Familiarity with inventory or ERP software (e.g., barcode/scanner-based systems).
• Knowledge of electrical, fluids, or pneumatic systems testing.
