Maintenance Mechanic I - Water District
The Town is seeking a Full Time Maintenance Mechanic I for our Water District Department located in Hampton Bays, NY.
Work will include but not be limited to:
- Assisting in laying pipe and the installation of water service lines and water meters, meter pits and curb cuts
- Working on repairs of broken or leaking water mains and service connections
- Assisting in the servicing and repair of Water District machinery and equipment
- Performing minor maintenance in the Hampton Bays Water District offices, garage, and field facilities. Including rough painting of facilities, maintenance of grounds and properties and operation of hand tools, power tools, and small machinery
- Operates town owned vehicles - must have valid driver's license.
Civil Service Minimum Qualifications
Either:
- (a) Completion of one (1) year of vocational education courses in a vocational school program, or in an apprentice or training program in one of the craft areas; or,
- (b) One (1) year of experience in minor maintenance or repair work; or,
- (c) A satisfactory equivalent combination of the above education or training and experience as defined by the limits of (a) and (b).
$57,858.48 annual salary plus full benefits package
