Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Palliative Care – Ohio

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Days/Nights or Rotating schedule based on unit needs; 4:1 patient ratio; Float required to units of equivalent or lower acuity; Weekend shifts as needed per unit requirements

Highlights:

• 12-bed specialized medical-surgical unit dedicated to palliative care for patients with serious, life-limiting illnesses
• Focus on symptom management including pain control, nausea/vomiting, failure to thrive, and fatigue for patients still under active treatment
• Epic EMR system required; 72-hour orientation provided
• Opportunity to enhance palliative care skills while maintaining acute med-surg competencies through floating
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, respiratory services, PT, rapid response teams, and social services
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics requiring high-quality, patient-centered care focused on comfort and dignity

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care RN experience required (must be actively working in specialty within the last 12 months)
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Experience with pharmacologic/non-pharmacologic pain interventions and equianalgesic dosing of opioids
• Skills required: IV management, phlebotomy, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• 2 professional references required; at least one must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role
