About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med-Surg/Tele Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years RN experience required License: Valid RN license required Certifications: BCLS required; Oncology experience preferred; ACLS, NIHSS, and OCN preferred Must-Have: Epic experience required Previous travel experience preferred Experience with IV starts, telemetry, and tracheostomy management Description: This position involves working with mixed acuity patients in a Med-Surg and Telemetry environment. Candidates should be comfortable with day, night, or a combination of shifts depending on department needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period. Oncology experience is preferred but not required. The nurse will be required to float within units of equivalent or lower levels of acuity. Maintenance of infection prevention protocols and patient safety is critical. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. Key skills include administration of chemotherapy, BiPAP/CPAP management, and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Interdisciplinary support is available from physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Special equipment includes monitoring systems, pumps, and specialty beds. References from a manager or supervisor in a leadership capacity are required. Candidates should have completed their education from an accredited program. This position demands current acute care experience in the specialty being applied for.
