Paid for the 40 hours of training, if hired./ppReturning lifeguards only - Start at hourly rate of $21.22./ppCasitas Lake Recreation Area offers some of the most competitive pay in Ventura County for lifeguards./ph3Job Description/h3pDefinition:/ppUnder direct supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator the Lifeguard is responsible for the safety of patrons within the Casitas Water Adventure facility. The Lifeguard should have a strong sense of commitment, professionalism, and be able to work under stress with a team. This is a temporary seasonal position in which the employee will be assigned tasks related to customer and employee safety, customer service, daily maintenance and other assigned tasks. Temporary employees are subject to termination after the summer season unless transferred to another department at the discretion of the Park Services Manager. Casitas Water Adventure is typically open from May through September./ph3Job Duties/h3ulliMonitoring activities in and around the water through patron surveillance./liliDemonstrating professionalism and being alert at all times./liliPreventing injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors./liliEnforcing facility rules and regulations and educating customers about them/liliRecognizing and responding quickly and effectively to all emergencies./liliAdministering first aid and CPR including using an AED./liliWorking as a team with other lifeguards, facility staff and management./liliParticipate in all meetings and training./liliResponding to customer concerns, compliments and complaints./liliMaintaining the facility to provide a safe and clean atmosphere./liliCarries out additional duties as assigned by supervisors./liliAct as a host to all Casitas Water Adventure guests./li/ulh3Certification/h3pCertifications to be obtained are as follows:/pulliAmerican Red Cross Blood borne Pathogens/liliAmerican Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer/liliAmerican Red Cross AED for the Professional Rescuer/liliAmerican Red Cross First Aid for the Professional Rescuer/liliAmerican Red Cross Lifeguarding/liliTitle 22 Training/li/ulpCasitas Water Adventure staff conduct at least four American Red Cross Lifeguard training sessions every season in preparation for the Summer season.
