Director, Research Data Foundation

Johnson & Johnson

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Director to lead research data systems transformation across R&D, establishing governed FAIR data environments and scalable ingestion platforms. This role drives data quality frameworks, metadata standards, and semantic capabilities to accelerate discovery, translational science, and AI-readiness across research domains.

Responsibilities

Lead scalable data ingestion, curation, and integration platforms with metadata enrichment and quality monitoring
Define and operate research data quality frameworks, FAIR standards, and automated governance across research domains
Establish research data catalog, ontology, and master data capabilities for improved data findability and interoperability
Partner with cross-functional teams including data product owners, scientists, and governance leaders on data operating model

Requirements

Master's degree in Computer Science or Life Sciences; advanced degree preferred
10+ years progressive technology leadership with research data focus
Experience in research data platform engineering and scientific data architecture
Background designing cloud-based FAIR data environments and metadata solutions
Experience in life sciences, healthcare, biotech, or regulated environments
Knowledge of semantic standards, ontologies, and master data management
