Histology Technician / Histotechnologist
Location: Santa Rosa, CA 95405
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night | 5×8 Hours
Hours: 4:00 PM–12:30 AM
Schedule: Sunday–Thursday
Local Candidates: Accepted
Traveler Candidates: Accepted
Pay Rate: $52–$57/hr
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of Histology experience
Grossing experience – Required
Acute care hospital experience required
ASCP HT/HTL certification preferred
California license preferred; pending license accepted
First-time travelers accepted only with 10+ years of strong experience
Maximum 7 days of RTO allowed
Responsibilities:
Perform histology procedures and specimen processing
Perform grossing of tissue specimens
Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination
Process, embed, cut, and stain tissue specimens
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
Follow laboratory quality-control and safety standards
Maintain accurate specimen identification and documentation
Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory staff
Follow applicable hospital and regulatory requirements
Perform other histology-related duties as assigned
