Senior Production Planner 

Location: Franklin, MA
Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday
Pay: Up to $55/hour DOE

The Panther Group is seeking an experienced Senior Production Planner to support a growing manufacturer of custom-engineered industrial equipment and automation systems in Franklin, MA.

This position is ideal for a hands-on planning professional with experience supporting low-volume, high-mix, engineer-to-order (ETO) or build-to-order manufacturing environments . The Senior Production Planner will be responsible for creating and managing production schedules for complex, one-off customer projects while coordinating materials, production capacity, labor/headcount, warehouse resources, and engineering requirements to meet aggressive customer deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting the manufacture of custom machinery, automation equipment, robotics, packaging machinery, capital equipment, electromechanical systems, or other engineered-to-order industrial equipment.

• Create, maintain, and drive detailed production schedules for custom and one-off equipment builds across multiple manufacturing areas.
• Translate customer delivery requirements and engineering release dates into achievable manufacturing schedules.
• Plan and coordinate production and warehouse labor/headcount based on project schedules, workload, capacity, and delivery requirements.
• Balance production capacity, material availability, supplier lead times, labor resources, and customer priorities to meet aggressive project deadlines.
• Release, prioritize, and monitor work orders throughout the manufacturing process.
• Work closely with Engineering to review and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, schematics, product configurations, and engineering changes/ECOs.
• Coordinate material requirements for complex assemblies and proactively identify shortages or long-lead components that could impact project schedules.
• Partner closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Project Management throughout each build.
• Adjust schedules quickly in response to engineering changes, material constraints, customer changes, or shifting production priorities.
• Monitor build progress and communicate schedule risks, material constraints, capacity issues, and recovery plans to leadership.
• Support new product/custom assembly setup within ERP/MRP systems.
• Drive improvements in scheduling accuracy, production throughput, resource utilization, and on-time delivery.

• 7+ years of production planning, master scheduling, production control, or related manufacturing experience.
• Demonstrated experience personally creating and managing production schedules within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting low-volume, high-mix, custom, engineer-to-order, or build-to-order manufacturing.
• Experience planning complex or one-off customer projects with tight delivery deadlines.
• Strong understanding of BOMs, work orders, material requirements, production capacity, and manufacturing workflow.
• Experience planning or coordinating production labor/headcount and manufacturing resources against production schedules.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Purchasing/Supply Chain, and Warehouse teams.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to reprioritize quickly as project requirements change.

• Experience within industrial automation, robotics, custom machine building, packaging machinery, capital equipment, electromechanical assembly, or engineered industrial equipment.
• Experience working from engineering drawings, CAD documentation, schematics, BOMs, and ECOs/ECNs.
• Experience scheduling multiple custom builds simultaneously across different manufacturing cells.
• Experience coordinating both production and warehouse/material resources.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
• APICS CPIM, CSCP, or similar certification.
