Work Environment

The role of PTA is performed onsite at our well-equipped hospital facility, allowing for dynamic interaction with a diverse patient population in need of rehabilitative services. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of tailored treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist, focusing on enhancing patients' mobility, strength, and functional abilities.
• Administer a variety of therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and functional training routines designed to facilitate the recovery process.
• Utilize modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and cryotherapy under the guidance of the licensed Physical Therapist to enhance therapy outcomes.
• Monitor patient progress actively, documenting responses to various therapy interventions using our electronic health record system.
• Work collaboratively with the Physical Therapist and other members of the healthcare team to adjust treatment plans based on patient progress, ensuring optimal rehabilitation outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families on effective home exercise regimens and strategies for injury prevention, fostering independence in their rehabilitation journey.
• Ensure compliance with clinic policies by maintaining punctual and accurate documentation of patient care and interventions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patients you will serve include individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and a variety of musculoskeletal disorders who come to our facility seeking to restore their physical capabilities. Your role will focus on collaborating with a diverse cross-section of patients, from active athletes to seniors looking to regain their mobility, emphasizing a personalized approach to each individual's rehabilitation needs.

Qualifications

To be successful in the role, you must possess an active and valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in Virginia. A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required. You should demonstrate a strong foundation in therapeutic modalities and have a thorough understanding of therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques.

Preferred Experience

While it is preferred that candidates have at least two years of experience in an orthopedic outpatient or rehabilitation setting, we are open to applicants who exhibit strong potential and a commitment to learning. Experience with electronic documentation in healthcare systems will be considered an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience and performance.
