Services include emergency services and freestanding emergency department, general and robotic surgery, maternity care, breast health, cardiology, orthopedic surgery, stroke, sleep medicine, urology and wound care.

The Lead Medical Technologist is responsible for all Medical Technologist duties including receiving and analyzing laboratory specimens and reporting results in a timely manner in accordance with Laboratory Policies and Procedures. Performs duties which may require both technical and professional judgment. Participates in and helps evaluate the Department's Quality Control, Quality Assurance, maintenance, and safety programs. Maintains parts, reagents and supplies in areas assigned to the section. In addition, the Lead Technologist assists the Lab Manager as preceptor to initial training, annual staff competencies, cross training staff into other sections and follow up re-education as needed. The Lead assists with implementing new tests and instrumentation, linearities, calibrations, correlations, weekly maintenance, monthly and quarterly maintenance. The Lead also assists with maintaining standing reagent orders, supply orders and reagent PAR levels.

Qualifications:

• Education: B.S. Degree in Medical Technology preferred, or associate level technologist
• Experience: At least one year as a currently active Medical Technologist is preferred.
• Licensure: Florida State licensure as a Medical Technologist under the provisions of Chapter 483. This Laboratory requires licensure in the specialties of Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, and Immunohematology. Serology and Microbiology a plus.
• Certifications: ASCP certification preferred.
• Computer: Basic computer skills
• Other: Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and customer service skills required.
