Position Overview

We are seeking passionate Special Education Teachers to join a high school team in Phoenix, AZ. These positions provide an opportunity to work with students in specialized educational settings focused on life skills, functional academics, and real-world readiness.

This is an excellent opportunity for educators who enjoy building meaningful relationships with students, working within smaller classroom environments, and making a lasting impact on student independence and post-secondary success.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized educational programs aligned with IEP goals.

• Provide specialized academic, behavioral, and functional skills instruction.

• Collaborate with general education staff, administrators, families, and related service providers.

• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational records.

• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.

• Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.

• Promote independence, self-advocacy, and transition readiness.

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district special education requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

• Valid state teaching certification as required by state and district regulations.

• Special Education Teaching Certification preferred and may be required by the district.

• Minimum of one year of teaching experience preferred.

• Current CPR certification, if applicable.

• TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, if applicable.

• Current health certificate, if required.

• Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Compliance with all professional standards of practice.

Assignment Details

Opening #1

• Student Population: High School

• Program Type: Community-Based Training (CBT)

• Classroom Size: Approximately 12-15 Students

• Focus: Functional academics, independent living skills, community engagement, and vocational readiness

Opening #2

• Student Population: High School

• Program Type: Practical Skills Program

• Classroom Size: Approximately 15-18 Students

• Focus: Modified curriculum, functional learning, and student independence

Compensation

Local Candidates

Travel Candidates

?? Up to $1,620 Weekly Gross Pay Package

?? Includes eligible weekly stipends:

• $500 Housing Stipend

• $400 Meals & Incidentals Stipend
