Registered Nurse- Emergency Dept-Full Time-Days/Night Shifts available

Job Description Responsible for direct and indirect patient care, utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge. Provides excellence in customer service and patient/family engagement at all times. Perform a head-to-toe assessment on Emergency Department patients. Coordinate and supervise patient care. Assess and reassess pain, utilizing appropriate pain management techniques. Educate the patient and family regarding pain management. Interpret results of EKG tests and take appropriate action on EKG test results. Know medications and IV fluids and their correct administration based on age of the patient and patient's clinical condition; formulate an individualized plan of care and evaluate its effectiveness. Identify physical symptoms and changes and take appropriate action promptly. Know cardiac monitoring and can identify dysrhythmias. Carry out medical and surgical asepsis during treatments and special procedures. Perform EKG testing, point‑of‑care testing, and swabbing per clinical laboratory, as well as phlebotomy. Follow Emergency Department’s patient‑care units’ policies and procedures. Organize and manage nursing activities, reflecting due consideration for patients’ needs and the needs of the facility and staff. Insert intravenous IV catheters. Requirements Graduate of an accredited nursing school. BSN degree required. Current NYS registered nurse licensure. One year of hospital nursing experience. Two years of ED and ICU experience preferred. Excellent customer service skills. BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required. #J-18808-Ljbffr 6AM City, LLC
