Nurse PractitionerPosition Overview: Join an integrated Health & Wellness Center where medical and counseling services work together from a holistic, whole-person model. As our Nurse Practitioner, you'll assess and respond to the health needs of Sarah Lawrence's student population, providing a range of primary care services in a warm, tight-knit setting. You'll work collaboratively with the College's contracted external physician and internal medical staff to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care — exercising your clinical judgment to diagnose and manage health issues, educate students on their well-being, and connect them with outside providers when needed. This is a great opportunity for an NP who wants room to grow within a small, supportive health center.Part-time to Full-time-Flexible Schedule Options: Monday-Thursday 1pm-5pm, Friday 11am-4pm for 28 weeks of academic year (21 hours) Monday/Wed/Friday 9am-5pm for 28 weeks of academic year (28 hours) 35 hours per week for 25 weeks of academic year Will consider other schedule options for the right candidate within Monday-Friday 9am-5pmEssential Functions: Assess, diagnose, and treat illnesses and injuries following standardized clinical procedures. Provide sexual and reproductive health services, through educating on sexual health concerns, prescribing contraception, and STI management. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging studies. Manage the in-house formulary, including prescribing and dispensing medications and vaccines. Document patient interactions and update medical records to reflect treatment plans and follow-up care. Make referrals to external healthcare providers and ensure continuity of care for students. Evaluate medical products as needed for clinical operations. Participate in regular staff meetings and continuing education to maintain professional certifications and licensure. Collaborate with campus partners, including the Athletic Trainer and Residence Life, and the Office of Access and Disability Services to coordinate care as needed. Maintain knowledge of federal, state and institutional policies, including OSHA, HIPAA and FERPA, to uphold confidentiality and data privacy standards. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution. Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult Nurse Practitioner. Current New York State Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse licensure. Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner Minimum of 3 – 5 years of clinical experience, preferably in primary care or public health. CPR and BLS for healthcare providers Proficient in phlebotomy. Proficiency in using electronic health records and Microsoft Office Suite. Moderately sedentary, involving periods of sitting and computer use. Frequent verbal and written communication required. Capacity to organize and synthesize detailed information to make clinical determinations. Occasional walking/standing/use of medical equipment required.Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a college health setting.
