Experienced Pharmacists with hospital experience — this Arizona contract offers the chance to work across both outpatient and inpatient pharmacy services with a collaborative clinical team serving a diverse patient population.

The team needs someone who can move where the need is, process prescriptions efficiently, maintain strong medication-safety standards, and step into inpatient/ER coverage when required.

What You'll Be Doing

• Process and dispense prescriptions accurately and within appropriate turnaround times.

• Counsel patients regarding medications, dosing, interactions, side effects, and proper use.

• Review medication orders for safety, appropriateness, interactions, allergies, and contraindications.

• Manage controlled substances in accordance with organizational policy, state law, and federal regulations.

• Maintain current medication and clinical pharmacy knowledge.

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals on medication therapy.

• Support outpatient pharmacy operations while remaining flexible to assist with inpatient and Emergency Department pharmacy coverage when needed.

• Maintain accurate medication records and documentation.

• Assist with inventory management, medication purchasing, and appropriate pharmaceutical storage.

• Support quality-improvement, medication-safety, and departmental initiatives.

• Adapt quickly to changing workflow and staffing needs across pharmacy locations.

Pharmacy Environment

This is a high-volume pharmacy operation filling approximately 1,000 prescriptions per day with the support of pharmacists, technicians, clerks, billing staff, and pharmacy technology.

Technology and equipment may include:

• ScriptPro Pharmacy Management System

• SP200 pharmacy robot

• RPMS Electronic Health Record

• Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets and carousel

• Kirby Lester counting equipment

The pharmacy also supports hospital clinical teams and specialized services including vaccination and anticoagulation/warfarin programs.

Requirements

• Hospital pharmacy experience required

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited school and/or PharmD

• Current, active, unrestricted Pharmacist license

• Arizona Pharmacist license preferred

• BLS required

• Must be comfortable working in both outpatient and inpatient pharmacy environments as needed

• Ability to work variable days, hours, nights, swing shifts, and weekends

• Strong medication knowledge and prescription-processing skills

• Strong communication, critical-thinking, and patient-counseling skills

• Reliable, flexible, self-motivated, and team-oriented

For Inpatient / ER Coverage

• ACLS required

• PALS required ; PALS may be obtained onsite

• Must be comfortable supporting acute-care medication needs and collaborating with emergency/inpatient clinical teams

Preferred: Two or more years of clinical pharmacy experience.
