Job Title

Labor & Delivery RN - Nights

Location

Lamar, CO

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 36 hours per week, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | On-call required | Shift rotation may be required based on staffing and census needs

Key Responsibilities

• Perform assessments and monitor the progress of labor, including preparation for C-sections and inductions, with accurate nursing documentation
• Administer care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum periods, including newborn/infant care and patient education
• Prepare the delivery room, provide emotional support to patients and families, and coordinate patient transfers as needed
• Administer IV medications and adhere to infection control principles and OB department policies
• Assure all aspects of maternal and newborn care throughout the labor, delivery, and postpartum continuum

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program with current Colorado RN licensure
• Current CPR certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required or must be obtained within one year of employment
• ACLS certification required or must be obtained within one year of employment
• Ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of sterile technique, infection control principles, and technical aspects of mother/infant care

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in obstetrics care preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal nursing care essentials
• Experience with OB-related equipment and obstetric procedures
