Overview
Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. 4900 General Surgery cares for a wide variety of patients including Minimally Invasive Surgery, Bariatric, Plastic Reconstruction, Endocrine-oncology, Orthopedics and Opthalmology. We are recognized as a Bariatric Center of Excellence. The various surgical services that comprise our patient population make 4900 a dynamic floor on which to build your nursing skillset.

Role Purpose
The Unit Secretary performs clerical duties supporting the operations of the patient care team.
Responsibilities
Supports the clinical operations by providing customer service and clerical support.
Transcribes physician orders as appropriate with close attention to detail.
Notifies appropriate nurse when STAT orders are written or when coordinating tests and procedures. Communicates new orders to the healthcare team as appropriate.
