About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-surgical care to adult and geriatric patients on a fast-paced 40-bed inpatient Post Surgical Care Unit following PACU recovery
• Manage a patient assignment of 4-5 patients on day/PM shifts and 5-7 patients on nights, prioritizing care based on acuity
• Support a unit that averages 10-15 admissions per day with an occupancy rate of 90-95% during the week and an average length of stay of 2-3 days
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Utilize Epic EMR , Rovers for medication scanning, and Alaris pumps for patient care and documentation
• Adhere to all facility infection control policies, including mandatory masking requirements during flu season for those who decline applicable vaccinations

• Active Wisconsin RN License required
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical experience with recent hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required

• Experience in post-surgical or PACU step-down care settings
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume, fast-paced inpatient environment
• Experience with Alaris infusion pumps and barcode medication administration

• Expected 36 hours per week on a well-established post-surgical unit with a collaborative team environment
