We are looking to hire a skilled Quality Assurance Analyst to work alongside our other talented test engineers and developers within CHIA’s Data Operation and Technology (DOT) Group. The tester’s duties will include quality assurance testing of CHIA‑developed web‑based applications, data intake and warehousing systems. Working with the manager, this position designs, develops, documents, and executes tests to verify that applications created by CHIA meet all business requirements and function as required. The Quality Assurance Analyst is accountable for communicating work status, holding to committed schedules, working with development counterparts, and ensuring that all products delivered to customers are of high quality and meet their requirements. Additionally, the Analyst ensures that all methods and procedures for test plan and test case development are followed and that work is clearly documented. Key Responsibilities Create and document test plans and test files in accordance with business requirements for applications under test. Conduct manual and/or scripted tests against applications under test to ensure business requirements are met. Thoroughly document test case results utilizing tools such as MS Excel, Teams, Azure DevOps, and CHIA collaboration tools. Document issues in CHIA bug tracking applications, detailing functionality requirements deficits. Perform troubleshooting to assist in identifying resolutions to both technical and non‑technical problems. Collaborate with and provide information and support to application developers to assist in corrective actions. Create detailed test cases to evaluate the quality of web applications and systems built within CHIA. Create and execute test cases using ‘production quality synthetic’ data sets to ensure application data integrity. Provide testing estimates to management and the project team, based on test cases. Review and provide feedback to Business Analysts on application and systems requirements documents. Attend and/or lead bug triage meetings with development and business teams. Triage, log, and track production bugs for CHIA web applications as applicable. Comply with CHIA data security requirements and assist in identifying potential data security risks. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required. Minimum of 4 years of software testing or equivalent experience required. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills, along with excellent documentation skills. Ability to work independently with little guidance. Ability to quickly learn new software applications and techniques related to data submission/compliance and application testing. Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies. Creative thinking and resourcefulness to fulfill testing requirements with existing in‑house toolsets. Ability to stay well organized, detailed and process oriented when under pressure to meet development deadlines. Able to adapt to shifting priorities based on business needs and multitask. Health Information and Analysis Industry knowledge. Experience working with large‑scale database systems such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake. Experience working with ETL tools such as Talend Data Fabric and IBM DataStage. Experience with Agile Software Development and Testing methods for deployment in cloud environments, preferably MS Azure.
