Manager - Registered Nurse - Intensive Care

Job Summary This role manages activities, workflow and nursing resources of assigned nursing unit(s). Responsibilities Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements for the unit. Conducts hiring, training, directing, development, and evaluation of staff. Identifies and resolves issues affecting delivery of patient care services for the unit. Develops and implements policies and procedures to guarantee efficient and effective delivery of health services. Monitors and adheres to the unit budget. Approves or monitors expenditures, purchases, and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines. Maintains a constant state of alertness and works safely. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field. Experience: Two years as a registered nurse with progressive leadership responsibility, or one year registered nurse experience plus one year of leadership experience. Licenses & Certifications: State Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin; Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA). Physical Requirements: Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0–25 lbs. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Frequent use of vision for distances near ( 20 feet) and to identify colors. Frequent use of hearing to share information and alert to alarms or machinery noises. Frequent keyboard use and data entry. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25–50 lbs. Rare climbing.
