ABC Fitness is looking for a Director, Data Engineering to lead the data engineering, data architecture, data platform, and data product capabilities that power ABC Fitness Insights across our platforms. This leader will oversee teams responsible for enterprise data architecture, financial data marts, accounting data models and extractions, ABC Insights web application, data modeling, customer data extracts, custom integrations, data sharing foundations, observability, and data governance.

This role is critical to how ABC delivers trusted insights to club and studio operators, corporate clients, internal business teams, and future AI-enabled product experiences. You will lead a globally distributed team across North America, India, Brazil, Europe, and contractor partners, while working closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, Customer-facing teams, Security, and Operations.

Success in this role means delivering reliable, scalable, secure, and well-governed data architecture and platform capabilities that help customers and internal teams make better decisions, operate more efficiently, and trust the data they use every day.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a globally distributed data engineering and data product organization supporting ABC Fitness Insights, including direct reports and contractor teams across North America, India, Brazil, Europe, and other supported locations.
• Define and evolve ABC Fitness Insights' data architecture strategy, including data models, platform patterns, integration approaches, data marts, data sharing foundations, and governance standards.
• Own delivery across financial data marts, accounting data models, data extractions, the Fitness BI application, canonical/master data models, custom integrations, data sharing foundations, and data governance.
• Set architecture standards for scalable, reliable, secure, and reusable data products across financial, customer, member, operational, and product data domains.
• Drive modernization of legacy and cloud data environments while maintaining stability for business-critical reporting, billing, accounting, and customer-facing workflows.
• Set the roadmap and operating rhythm for data platform reliability, observability, pipeline performance, incident response, and production support.
• Partner with Finance, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Support, Security, and business stakeholders to translate data needs into scalable reporting, extracts, dashboards, integrations, and data products.
• Establish standards for data quality, lineage, access, documentation, observability, security, privacy, and responsible data sharing.
• Build and develop a high-performing team through clear priorities, coaching, accountability, hiring, feedback, and sustainable delivery practices.
• Strengthen ABC's AI-ready data foundation by improving the accuracy, consistency, accessibility, architecture, and governance of data used for analytics, automation, and intelligent product experiences.

What You'll Need:

• 15+ years of experience leading data engineering, BI, analytics engineering, data architecture, data platform, or data product teams in a SaaS, technology, payments, or data-intensive business.
• Deep experience designing and leading enterprise data architecture, including data modeling, data marts, integration patterns, cloud data platforms, governance, scalability, security, and performance.
• Strong technical judgment across ETL/ELT, cloud data platforms, BI/reporting, data integrations, data quality, observability, and operational reliability.
• Experience owning customer-facing or business-critical data products, not just internal pipelines or reporting workflows.
• Proven ability to lead globally distributed teams across multiple time zones, with strong operating rhythms, clear communication, and effective cross-region handoffs.
• Experience modernizing legacy data environments while keeping financial, customer, or operational reporting stable and trusted.
• Strong understanding of data governance, including quality, lineage, access controls, documentation, privacy, security, and client-facing data sharing.
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including Finance, Product, Engineering, customer-facing teams, and senior leaders.
• Strong operating discipline across roadmap planning, prioritization, delivery management, incident response, metrics, and continuous improvement.

And It's Great To Have:

• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, Fivetran, Power BI, AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloud data environments.
• Experience with financial data marts, accounting data models, billing data, payments data, or high-volume operational reporting.
• Experience with customer-facing BI applications, embedded analytics, DaaS, data sharing, or corporate client reporting.
• Experience building canonical data models, customer/member data models, master data models, data contracts, observability frameworks, or modern data governance programs.
• Fitness, wellness, vertical SaaS, payments, or multi-product platform experience.

• ABC Fitness Insights has a clearer, more scalable data architecture across financial, customer, member, operational, and product data domains.
• Critical financial, accounting, reporting, extraction, and BI workflows are more reliable, observable, and scalable.
• Data models, data marts, integrations, and customer-facing data products are easier to maintain, reuse, govern, and evolve.
• Data platform modernization is sequenced and delivered without disrupting customer, finance, or operations-critical workflows.
• Stakeholders have higher confidence in data accuracy, timeliness, usability, and security.
• The team operates with clearer priorities, stronger accountability, healthier delivery rhythms, and better cross-region collaboration.
• ABC's data foundation is better positioned to support analytics, automation, AI-enabled workflows, DaaS, and future customer-facing intelligence.

Compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and market considerations. The anticipated compensation range for this position is zł380,000 - zł440,000 PLN Annually- annually. In addition to base compensation, eligible employees may be offered other forms of compensation, such as bonuses, commissions, equity, or other incentive programs, where applicable. Compensation and benefits may vary by location and are subject to applicable legal, business, and market requirements.
