Role Description
The Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing our employees' health benefit program to include FMLA, ADA, and Workers' comp. This position will also be in charge of our retirement and life insurance accounts. The Benefits Specialist will be reporting directly to the HR Director.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
- 5 Years of Related Experience
- Experience in eligibility, claim, and/or compliance processing
- Knowledge of MS Office 365
- Must possess great communication skills
- Demonstrate knowledge of benefits and HRIS systems
- Bilingual: English/Spanish
- Detail-oriented, able to handle and manage conflict, technically astute, collaborative leader
Requirements
- Handles all questions regarding the company’s benefit programs
- Reviews all employees’ benefits to ensure they are receiving the correct coverage
- Coordinates with health care providers and investment brokers
- Consults with management regarding any new and exciting benefits plans
- Focuses on all FMLA, STD/LTD, and worker comp cases and follows up in accordance with state and national regulations
- Ensures compliance in accordance with legislation such as PPACA, ERISA, COBRA
- Assists with the communication and education of benefits to current employees
- Monitors and audits all benefit accounts and payroll adjustments and deductions
- Assists with benefit-related documents in our HRIS
- Assists with our yearly open enrollment presentations and communications
- Maintains all employees’ records regarding benefits, retirement, and life plans
- Other duties as assigned
