Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire Compensation: $145-165k About the Role We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead and enhance the organization's people strategy while supporting continued growth across multiple locations. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines strategic HR partnership with oversight of core HR functions. The ideal candidate will be a strong HR generalist and business partner who can work closely with executives and managers, develop effective people programs, navigate complex employee relations matters, and build scalable HR processes and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Partner with executive and functional leaders to align HR initiatives with business goals and organizational growth. Provide guidance on organizational structure, workforce planning, staffing, roles, and capabilities. Serve as a trusted HR advisor to executives, managers, and employees. Coach managers and leaders on effective people management and leadership practices. Develop and enhance performance management, leadership development, talent assessment, employee development, and succession planning initiatives. Support organizational change and growth initiatives. Lead and manage complex employee relations matters, investigations, performance concerns, conflicts, and corrective actions. Coach managers through employee performance and workplace issues. Promote consistent and fair application of company policies and practices. Partner with legal counsel and outside resources when appropriate. Provide strategic oversight of recruiting, onboarding, retention, employee development, and workforce planning. Partner with leadership to identify current and future talent needs. Support compensation and job structure initiatives. Oversee core HR operations, including payroll, benefits, HRIS, leaves, employee records, policies, and reporting. Evaluate and improve HR processes, systems, technology, and workflows. Develop scalable and consistent HR practices to support continued organizational growth. Maintain compliance with California and federal employment requirements, as well as applicable requirements in other states. Identify potential HR and employment-related risks and recommend appropriate solutions. Build relationships with leaders and employees across multiple company locations. Help ensure consistent HR practices, policies, and employee experiences across locations. Travel periodically to company locations as needed to support employees and leadership teams. Qualifications 7–10+ years of progressive HR experience with strong HR generalist experience. Experience across employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, compensation, HR operations, and compliance. Previous HR leadership or management experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience coaching managers and developing leadership capabilities. Experience building or improving HR processes, systems, and infrastructure within a growing organization. Strong knowledge of California and federal employment laws; multi-state experience preferred. Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business needs into practical HR strategies. Excellent judgment, communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills. Comfortable working in a hands-on environment and balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day HR needs. Ability to influence and appropriately challenge leaders when necessary. Spanish-speaking ability strongly preferred. Ability and willingness to travel periodically to company locations. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. SHRM-SCP, SPHR, PHRca, or similar certification is a plus.
