Conduct diagnostic psychological testing of infants and toddlers to determine developmental levels, functional needs, and eligibility for the North Carolina Infant Toddler Program Conduct standardized developmental testing of motor, language, social, adaptive, and cognitive functioning Observe and assess children and interview parents as needed Conduct assessments primarily in children’s natural environments, including homes, childcare settings, and community settings Participate in clinical staffing with Service Coordinators and CDSA clinical staff Compile assessment results, determine potential eligibility, make diagnoses, and formulate intervention recommendations Prepare formal written assessment reports Participate in Individual Family Service Plan development Consult with disciplines and service providers regarding IFSP outcomes Interpret assessment results to families, caregivers, and professionals Provide treatment services to infants, toddlers, and families Integrate psychological services with other disciplines Communicate with Early Intervention Service Coordinators and team members about progress and changing needs Provide psychological consultation regarding child development, behavior, infant mental health, and family functioning Provide consultation and technical assistance in infant/toddler mental health, behavior management, and social-emotional development Maintain client records according to CDSA/ITP and third-party reimbursement standards Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development events Complete required daily and monthly documentation, including time, travel, and billing Participate in Quality Assurance/Improvement activities Provide trainings to families and agencies as requested Represent the CDSA on local boards and committees as requested Follow departmental, division, and agency policies and procedures Perform other related duties as assigned Requirements Eligibility for licensure in North Carolina under the NC Psychology Practice Act (G.S. 90-270) Knowledge of psychology, including human behavior, learning, development, and therapeutic intervention principles Knowledge of psychological and developmental test administration and interpretation for children Thorough knowledge of child development from birth to three years Knowledge of developmental disabilities and the needs of young children and families Skill in clinical interviewing and standardized testing Knowledge of evidence-based practices for young children and families Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing Ability to maintain client records Ability to work with minimal supervision as part of an interdisciplinary team Ability to drive and travel by car across the CDSA catchment area Ability to use computers and keyboards and sit for extended periods Degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions if applicable Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in conducting diagnostic psychological testing and assessments for infants and toddlers, with a strong focus on developmental levels and eligibility for early intervention programs. Proficient in collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and communicating assessment results effectively to families and professionals.
