Respiratory Therapist - RRTThe Respiratory Therapist (RRT) position involves providing high-quality respiratory care to a diverse patient population ranging from adolescents to geriatrics. The role encompasses working in various settings including Med/Surg and ICU/Stepdown units, with potential responsibilities in the Emergency Department (ED). The position requires effective teamwork and the ability to practice at the top of your license within a large respiratory care department.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care to patients.Utilize advanced equipment and technology for patient management, including ventilators and monitoring systems.Perform airway management, medication administration, and other therapeutic procedures.Conduct assessments and interpret clinical data effectively.Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.Required QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy.Experience in ER, Adult ICU, Med/Surg, and ICU/Stepdown settings.Strong hands-on skills in respiratory care techniques including airway management, nebulizer treatments, BiPAP, CPAP, and mechanical ventilation.EPIC experience is mandatory.Active NC License and RRT credentials.Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.Preferred QualificationsExperience with bronchoscopes is highly desirable.Certifications: NRP.Work EnvironmentPatient ratios: 35-45 patients per day.Shifts: 12-hour night shifts; 36 or 48 hours per week based on unit needs.Orientation will be provided on day shifts before transitioning to night shifts.No floating to other facilities; internal floating only within the department.Weekend requirements: 4 weekend shifts within a 6-week period.Special EquipmentFamiliarity with equipment including Servo I, Servo U, Hamilton T1, and ABL90 ABG machines.Scrubs and AttireBlack scrubs are required as part of the work attire.Additional InformationThis position requires strong team collaboration, flexibility, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.
