Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Join our dynamic respiratory care team as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Our department is dedicated to providing exceptional care while practicing at the highest level of our licenses. The position will involve working with a diverse patient population ranging from adolescents to geriatrics in various settings, including med/surg and ICU stepdown units, and potentially in the emergency department.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care, including airway management, medication administration, and ventilator management.
• Conduct assessments such as ABGs, oxygen therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, and nebulizer treatments.
• Utilize advanced equipment including Servo I, Servo U, Hamilton T1, and various BiPAP and CPAP devices.
• Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Participate in patient education and recovery processes, ensuring optimal outcomes across all patient ages.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in respiratory care.
• Traveler Experience: First-time travelers are accepted.
• Work Setting Experience: Experience in ER, Adult ICU, Med/Surg, and ICU/Stepdown is required.
• Certifications: Must possess BLS, ACLS, PALS, NC license, and RRT credentials.
• EPIC Experience: Required for all applicants.
• Preferred Skills: Experience with bronchoscopes and NRP certification is advantageous. Note: CRT credentials are not accepted.

Job Details

• Patient Ratios: 35-45 patients per day.
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15); 36 or 48 hours may be offered.
• RTO Policy: A maximum of 7 days RTO is accepted for auto offers.
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts within a 6-week period.
• Orientation: Scheduled for several days, starting with day shifts (7a - 7p) before transitioning to night shifts (7p - 7a).
• Scrubs: Black scrubs are required.

Special Equipment

The role will involve utilizing specialized respiratory equipment, including the ABL90 ABG machine, and various ventilatory support systems.

Unit Systems

Candidates must have demonstrated proficiency with EPIC systems to ensure efficient patient record management and care coordination.
