INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR SOURCING SPECIALIST

The Independent Contractor Sourcing Specialist is responsible for full cycle recruiting and selection and document verification for independent contract CDL and non‑CDL drivers. This position is responsible for creating a pipeline of 1099 candidates through recruiting efforts in order to maintain business staffing plans success. Our hybrid work schedule requires team members to be in the office four days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely one day each week. Your role on the team: Owns full‑cycle recruiting, selection, and document verification. Identifies potential candidates through dispatch of resume review, local career fairs, networking, and candidate sourcing. Screen resumes and conduct phone screens with potential candidates. Ensure external and internal candidates complete the full application for consideration. Communicate hiring manager and Operations leaders through the search process. Maintain a tracking system and reporting to ensure business needs are met. Manage scheduling for candidate interviews. Follow up on and complete mandatory paperwork in a timely manner. Perform recruitment advertising. Communicate contract terms, rates, and conditions. Maintain the internal job board. Partner with external recruiting agencies as necessary. Keep up to date on legislation and regulations related to independent contractors. Perform other duties as required and assigned. Support GEODIS’ programs for Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, Ethics, Compliance, CSR, and Sustainability. What you need: (requirements) Minimum 2 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in regional recruiting for self‑employed 1099 contractors. Experience sourcing and networking to identify candidates. Knowledge of federal and state laws regulating the use of independent contractors. Knowledge of behavioral interviewing. PC‑literate with experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access, and Excel. Excellent written and oral communication skills that demonstrate the ability to develop relationships with internal and external customers. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
