Develop seasonal strategies that align to company financial goals, drive top line sales and margin. Communicate changes in strategy to the appropriate cross functional team members on a timely basis. Drive assortment strategy to achieve financial goals. Manage merchandise receipts and open-to-buy by week according to agreed plans. Control development, purchase and delivery of merchandise assortments. Negotiate all aspects of product purchasing with vendors. Interpret fashion trends for the It’s Fashion! Develop and maintain proper relationships in assigned markets, including direct imports where appropriate. Communicate merchandise information to appropriate cross functional team members. Shop competition and It’s Fashion! stores on a regular basis. Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned. Train and mentor direct reports; motivates and encourages success. Weekly best seller meetings—communicate effectively to executive leadership what is driving your business. Identify business opportunities and risks in season through analysis of current sales with timely direction in order to react. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties and requirements are essential job functions. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree required. WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years experience in buying and must be able to relocate to Charlotte, North Carolina. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION REQUIRED: None KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Self-motivated with strong organizational and people skills.
