The Special Education Teacher serves as the primary educational professional responsible for providing specially designed instruction to students assigned to the off-site program.

Primary Responsibilities.

The program's goal is to help students make meaningful academic and behavioral progress while developing the skills necessary to successfully participate in school, community, and future educational environments.

The teacher will:

• Review each student's IEP and applicable educational records made available for the assignment.
• Develop instruction based on the student's individual educational needs.
• Provide specially designed instruction.
• Develop daily and weekly lesson plans.
• Modify and adapt instructional materials.
• Provide individual and small-group instruction.
• Implement appropriate accommodations and modifications.
• Collect data regarding student progress.
• Monitor academic performance.
• Communicate student progress and concerns to the appropriate school-district personnel.
• Participate in IEP meetings when requested or required.
• Collaborate with parents/guardians and district personnel within the scope of the provider's responsibilities.
• Maintain accurate educational documentation.
• Establish classroom routines and expectations.
• Coordinate with behavioral-support staff when behavioral concerns affect educational participation.

The Special Education Teacher should maintain the appropriate Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction licensure for the assignment being performed.
