Transportation Project Manager Job Type: Full-time Westwood Professional Services, Inc . is seeking an ambitious and talented professional to join our team as a Transportation Project Manager. This is an opportunity to join Westwood's highly experienced and dynamic team dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. This professional will support public and private infrastructure projects and sit in our Las Vegas, NV office. Our ideal candidate will have 8+ years of roadway design experience and a minimum of 1 year project management experience supporting design projects. This position is responsible for complex engineering design tasks as well as marketing, business development, client contact, and growth of a team. Responsibilities & Requirements Manage the design and delivery of projects in a profitable manner Lead the technical aspects of various projects Work with a team in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for projects of various size and complexity Supervise the work of engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project Perform field reviews and other assessments for use in design Develop project work plans and budget projections and effectively deploy resources Review, interpret and act upon business metrics Prepare, maintain and coordinate schedules of multiple concurrent projects Develop and track milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery Complete monthly project accounting and invoicing Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures Coordinate with other disciplines, support services and subconsultants Coordinate with government agencies, utility providers or other outside agencies Participate in contract bidding, provide limited observation during construction, review submittals and RFIs Resolve design conflicts and field construction issues Represent clients and firm in meetings with governmental agencies Participate in business development activities include proposal preparation and interviews Mentor, train and/or supervise the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel Build relationships internally and externally with clients and strategic partners Lead by example - display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism Required Skills Outgoing, friendly, approachable Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Proficient in Autodesk Civil3D Proficient in the use of national design standards (MUTCD, AASHTO, etc.) Proficient in applying ADA/PROWAG criteria in public infrastructure design Extensive knowledge of geometric design and other related design elements Knowledge and experience with the full roadway project lifecycle from preliminary studies through final design Experience providing construction phase services Experience with duties involved in managing a design team Experience preparing proposals, scopes of work and qualification packages Ability to develop relationships with peers, clients, and public agency staff Ability to coach and motivate others Qualifications BS in Civil Engineering Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in Nevada (or capable of obtaining within 6 months) 8+ years of progressive experience in public infrastructure design This position requires travel to project sites and other Westwood offices throughout the United States Westwood provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
