Sr. Data Analyst - ADI

POSITION CONCEPT

The Data Analyst, Sr. - ADI supports the delivery and sustained use of data, analytics, and artificial intelligence solutions by translating business needs into reliable data products, actionable insights, and decision-support tools. The role independently prepares, analyzes, validates, and visualizes complex data; develops and maintains business intelligence solutions; strengthens data quality and governance; and partners with business and Technology stakeholders throughout the solution lifecycle. The senior analyst also provides technical guidance, promotes consistent analytical practices, and supports the growth of less-experienced analysts. ADVANCEMENT IN PROGRESSION

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare, integrate, cleanse, and analyze complex data sets for reports, dashboards, analytics products, and AI-enabled solutions. (15%)

Design, build, enhance, and maintain business intelligence reports and dashboards using tools such as Microsoft Power BI and Excel. (15%)

Translate business questions into analytical approaches, measures, data requirements, and clear findings that support operational and strategic decisions. (15%)

Support solution design and prototyping by performing exploratory analysis, developing data visualizations, and evaluating solution feasibility. (10%)

Lead or support requirements gathering, data validation, user acceptance testing, deployment readiness, and post-implementation adoption activities. (10%)

Monitor data quality, investigate errors and anomalies, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate corrective actions with data owners and technical partners. (10%)

Support data governance by documenting key fields, calculations, terminology, lineage, controls, and business processes for assigned solutions. (10%)

Collaborate with business and Technology partners to prioritize analytical needs, communicate findings, and deliver practical, actionable insights. (10%)

Provide technical guidance, peer review, knowledge sharing, and mentoring to analysts; contribute to standards and continuous improvement. (5%)

SENIOR-LEVEL SCOPE

Performs assignments of moderate to high complexity with minimal supervision and exercises sound judgment in selecting analytical methods and resolving data issues.

Independently manages analysis and reporting work from requirements through validation, delivery, and sustainment.

Leads or participates in cross-functional workstreams and serves as a knowledgeable resource for assigned data domains and analytics solutions.

Reviews work products for accuracy, clarity, usability, and alignment with established standards.

Identifies opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, automation, adoption, and decision support.

RELATIONSHIPS

Key Internal: ADI and Technology teams, data owners, product and project teams, operational leaders, subject-matter experts, and business unit partners.

Key External: Technology vendors, consultants, implementation partners, and professional organizations, as assigned.

SUPERVISION

Direct: None.

Indirect: May lead cross-functional workstreams and provide mentoring, training, technical guidance, and peer review to less-experienced analysts.

QUALIFICATIONS Education

Required: Bachelor's degree in a technical or STEM discipline, such as Data Science, Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.

Preferred: Advanced coursework or graduate degree in a related technical, analytical, or STEM discipline.

Related Experience

Required: Two (2) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting, data visualization, or a related analytical role.

Preferred: Experience supporting enterprise analytics, large or complex datasets, utility operations, or technology transformation programs. Experience with Power BI, SQL, Snowflake, Python, machine learning, or AI data solutions.

Licenses / Certifications

Preferred: Relevant certifications or completed training in data analytics, Power BI, SQL, Python, cloud data platforms, data visualization, or Agile delivery.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify patterns, assess data quality, investigate anomalies, and communicate implications.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience developing business intelligence reports and dashboards in Microsoft Power BI or a similar platform.

Working knowledge of SQL and relational data concepts; ability to query, join, validate, and reconcile data from multiple sources.

Ability to define measures, calculations, data requirements, acceptance criteria, and documentation that support repeatable and trusted analytics.

Ability to present complex information in clear, concise language for technical and non-technical audiences.

Knowledge of data governance, data quality, privacy, security, and responsible use of data and AI.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, collaborate across functions, and deliver accurate work within established timelines.

Familiarity with software development lifecycle or Agile methods, requirements gathering, testing, change readiness, and solution adoption.

Ability to mentor peers, provide constructive review, and contribute to analytical standards and continuous improvement.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal office environment. Work may be performed in hybrid or remote settings consistent with department requirements. Occasional travel to Company locations or partner sites may be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / REQUIREMENTS

Primarily sedentary work involving extended use of a computer and standard office equipment. May require occasional weekend or overtime work, including rotational or project-based support, based on business needs.
