Production Operator I - Cable Assembly 1st Shift: 6 AM-3:30 PM (M-F) 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM - 1:AM (M-F) $17-$18hr Overview The Production Operator I supports manufacturing operations by assembling, inspecting, and testing coaxial cable assemblies and connectors. This role focuses on precision, quality, and adherence to established procedures. Key Responsibilities Follow assembly instructions, drawings, and work orders Assemble small components to MIL-spec and industry standards Operate equipment such as crimping, stripping, coiling, and testing machines Perform hand assembly using tools including presses and heat guns Use measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify specifications Conduct basic testing (continuity testers, network analyzers, etc.) Record production data, measurements, and quality results accurately Track labor using internal systems Maintain a clean, safe work environment and report equipment issues Work collaboratively in a team environment Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required 3+ years of cable assembly and/or soldering experience Ability to read prints and follow technical instructions Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy Basic computer skills for data entry and time tracking Ability to distinguish colors (quality requirements) Skills & Abilities Excellent hand dexterity for small component assembly Understanding of measurements, tolerances, and quality standards Strong problem-solving and communication skills Ability to work with engineering teams on new products/processes Work Environment & Physical Requirements Clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment Frequent standing, sitting, and repetitive hand movements Ability to lift, carry, push, and move materials as needed Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
