Kitchen Assistant - Hidden Lake & Lake Clear Camps

GSNENY is hiring a dependable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to support daily meal preparation and food service for campers and staff at Hidden Lake Camp and Lake Clear Camp. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys staying active, working as part of a team, and contributing to a positive camp experience behind the scenes. This position can be filled as a full-summer role (8 weeks total, June 27th - August 21st), or a partial summer at either Hidden Lake Camp (June 27th - July 31, 2026) or Lake Clear Camp (August 1st - August 21st). About the Role: Our Camps are unique and shaped by the physical and outdoor spaces in which they take place, the team-building nature of our activities, and the welcoming environment that we strive to create. You'll help keep camp running smoothly by supporting food prep, meal service, cleanliness, and food safety, all while being part of a friendly and mission-driven camp community. This includes: Assisting with food prep and meal service Cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen and dining areas Washing dishes and maintaining equipment Following food safety and sanitation guidelines Supporting special events and camp programming Compensation & Perks: Earn $80-$85 per day (depending on experience). Job Requirements: At least 18 years old by June 27, 2026 Experience in institutional or large food service settings Knowledge of and experience in food service Knowledge of and standards of food preparation, serving, and storage, and kitchen procedures Knowledge of and experience in the preparation of special dietary foods Ability to interact positively with youth ages 7 to 17; prior youth-focused work or volunteer experience preferred.
