Step into a rewarding opportunity shaping the future as a Special Education Teacher serving middle school students in a self-contained, non-severe classroom setting. This full-time contract position runs from as soon as possible through June 4, 2027, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule (7:15am – 3:15pm, 37.5 hours weekly).
Your expertise will have a lasting impact as you deliver tailored instruction and foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment. You’ll play a vital role in collaborating with colleagues and supporting each student's educational and personal growth.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid state certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with middle school students, preferably in a self-contained environment
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes, student evaluations, and compliance documentation
- Effective classroom management and differentiation skills
- Clear communication abilities to collaborate with staff and communicate with families
- Adaptable, positive, and committed to supporting diverse learning needs
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement individualized instruction for students with special needs
- Develop, document, and monitor progress on IEP goals
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom climate
- Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and general education staff
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development
