CNA I | Certified Nursing Assistant - Med/Step-Down Unit

Overview: Join a compassionate healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant I, providing essential patient care in a Med/Step-Down unit within a vibrant regional healthcare setting in the Southeastern United States. Key Responsibilities:

Assist with patient admissions, including orientation to unit routines and equipment.
Respond promptly to patient needs, providing direct assistance or communicating with the care team as appropriate.
Support the nursing care plan by performing delegated patient care tasks.
Maintain patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
Manage and stock patient care supplies, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
Participate actively in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
Engage in educational and performance improvement initiatives.
Perform waived testing and maintain required skills per unit competency.
Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction, patient flow, and operational efficiency.

Education and Certifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
Current registration with the appropriate state nursing assistant registry.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Experience and Skills:

No prior work experience required; on-the-job training provided.
Strong guest relations and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to read and understand English.
Flexibility in work tasks and schedules.
Basic computer proficiency.
Understanding of age-specific patient care considerations.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work variable shifts including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
Capability to turn and lift patients safely.
Visual and auditory acuity necessary for patient observation.
Exposure to blood and body fluids with adherence to safety protocols.
