Accounting Manager

Title : Senior Manager, Technical Accounting Company : Innovative Biotechnology Organization Compensation : $150-175k base salary + bonus + equity + comprehensive benefits Overview: An innovative biotechnology company is seeking a Senior Manager of Technical Accounting to join its finance organization. This is a high visibility opportunity for an accounting professional with a strong technical accounting background who is looking to transition into or continue growing within industry and take on a strategic, impactful role in a collaborative environment. The company offers exposure to complex accounting matters, executive leadership, and cross functional initiatives supporting the advancement of innovative therapies and scientific technologies. Key Responsibilities • Lead technical accounting research and prepare accounting position memos related to complex transactions under US GAAP • Provide guidance on revenue recognition, stock compensation, leases, debt arrangements, acquisitions, and other technical accounting matters • Support the preparation and review of SEC filings, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and related disclosures • Partner closely with FP&A, legal, operations, and executive leadership to evaluate accounting implications of strategic initiatives • Oversee aspects of the monthly and quarterly close process related to technical accounting and financial reporting • Drive implementation of new accounting standards and ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements • Assist with strengthening internal controls, accounting policies, and scalable financial reporting processes • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and support audit coordination • Mentor and develop junior accounting team members as the organization continues to grow Qualifications • Active CPA required • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field • 6+ years of accounting experience with a strong foundation in technical accounting and financial reporting • Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred, but not required • Deep understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting concepts • Experience supporting publicly traded companies and SEC reporting environments preferred • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced and evolving environment Why This Opportunity • Excellent opportunity for someone looking to make the transition from public accounting into industry • Broad exposure to executive leadership and strategic decision making • Opportunity to work within an innovative biotechnology company making meaningful impact • Strong career growth potential as the organization continues to scale • Collaborative and team oriented culture with high visibility and ownership EEO Notice Vaco by Highspring is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race (including but not limited to traits historically associated with race such as hair texture and hair style), color, sex (includes pregnancy or related conditions), religion or creed, national origin, citizenship, age, disability, status as a veteran, union membership, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, political affiliation, or any other protected characteristics as required by federal, state or local law.
