Assessment

• Assess patients within pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups using a combination of standardized testing and observational methods.
• Create tailored treatment plans focusing on both immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
• Conduct individualized speech therapy sessions dedicated to communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing enhancement.
• Collaborate with occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers to develop comprehensive care strategies.
• Provide education to patients and their families to facilitate progress outside of the therapy environment.
• Support occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions in speech therapy, ensuring seamless continuity in care.
• Document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner according to state, federal, and organizational standards.
• Engage in continuous learning to stay informed of advancements in speech-language pathology through professional development opportunities.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.

Certifications

• State licensure required for Speech Language Pathology.
• A Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
