Job Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend required. Contract length 13-26 weeks. Charge role preferred for night shift travelers.

Highlights:

• General Medical/Surgical unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with a daily census of approximately 43
• Patient ratio of 1:6 with appropriate RN support and interdisciplinary team collaboration
• Epic EMR with Pyxis medication management; 24 hours of unit orientation provided
• Opportunity to serve in charge nurse capacity on night shift
• Experience with heparin drips, wound vac management, high flow oxygen, and occasional BiPAP support
• First-time travelers accepted; locals welcome

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

• Assignment to Inclement Weather/Storm Team required
• Up to 7 days of time off may be requested (no holidays)
• Monthly unit team meetings required (4th Wednesday at 5:30 PM; night shift meetings on following Friday at 7:30 AM)
• Navy scrubs required (not provided)
• Pre-start online modules required (8-10 hours, non-billable)
