About the Position

Job Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN – North Carolina

Start Date: September 21, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week. Patient ratios of 1:5-6. Weekend requirement of 12-16 shifts per contract. Floating required as needed.

Highlights

• 13-20 week travel contracts available with 24 hours of comprehensive unit orientation
• Acute medical/surgical telemetry unit with 41-bed capacity caring for diverse patient populations including diabetes, COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, CVA, GI bleed, and post-surgical patients
• Remote telemetry monitoring with interpretation of dysrhythmias; utilizes Epic EMR and Pyxis medication systems
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and phlebotomy
• Advanced skill utilization including central line management, PICC lines, IV starts, wound vac, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and blood product administration
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome (rate differential applies)

Requirements

• Current North Carolina or Compact State RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care medical/surgical or telemetry experience
• Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start date
• Experience with IV insulin protocols, dysrhythmia management, central/peripheral line care, heparin protocols, and PCA pumps
• Proficiency in wound care, colostomy care, feeding tube management, isolation precautions, and non-invasive airway management
• Patient ratio experience of 1:5-6 preferred
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Must be available to work Storm Team/Hurricane Team assignments and report during catastrophic events or disasters as required
