About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Holding/Float Pool Registered Nurse – North Carolina**Start Date:** September 21, 2026 **Location:** Wilmington, North Carolina **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Day shift, 36 or 48 hours per week; every other weekend required**Highlights:** - ED Holding Support position within Float Pool caring for adult medical/surgical patients awaiting inpatient beds- Target ratios of 1:6 for MS/Tele patients or 1:4 for PCU level patients- Epic charting system with 12-hour orientation provided- Contract length flexible from 13 weeks up to February 27, 2027 to support facility through holiday season- Float to Emergency Department and Medical/Surgical areas as needed based on facility census- Navy scrubs provided; interdisciplinary team support including Respiratory, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams**Requirements:** - Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience required- Previous travel nursing experience required- Current BLS and ACLS certifications mandatory- Proficiency in MS/Tele, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring (unit-based and remote)- Strong skills in blood product administration, peripheral and PICC line management, colostomy and feeding tube care, renal failure management, heparin and insulin protocols, isolation precautions- Experience with chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, airway management, oral suctioning, and tracheostomy management- Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start date- Willingness to serve on Storm/Hurricane Team during catastrophic events or disasters as assigned**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This fast-paced position offers experienced travel nurses the chance to utilize diverse clinical skills while caring for high-acuity patients in a dynamic Emergency Department holding environment. Important Information:

• Requested time off (RTO) is limited to 7 days maximum and must be approved prior to contract signing; no additional RTO requests accepted after booking
• Candidates must work 2 of 3 major holidays; no RTO permitted during first week or on holidays
• Compliance testing must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
• Pre-start online modules (8-10 hours) required prior to orientation using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at different rate structure
