Be attentive and responsive to doctors’ and/or practice administrator/team leader requests in a timely manner. Be punctual and regular in attendance. Follow all office policies and procedures. Make decisions that reflect the best interests of Heart One Associates and providing quality patient care. Maintain patient confidentiality as governed by the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Answer the telephone by the third ring, distribute with appropriate documentation. Scheduling appointments with patients, physicians, and other medical staff members. Monitor and complete actions. Verify eligibility, coverage criteria, and benefits. Schedule follow-up appointments or any testing needed after hospital discharge. Adding overnight consults Answering and addressing the STEMI calls. Attaching hospital records to patient chart. Distribution of emails to our various departments for processing Coordinate the consults from our referring hospitals to our Physicians. Communicate RN questions and orders to the consulting Physician via Tiger Text. Enter all consults in Hybrid Chart for Physician and APPs to view. Records timely in EHR per the corporation’s policy and procedure in a timely manner Obtains clinical information required to request prior authorizations Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in charts for all correspondence involving patient care. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Dress Code: Black Scrubs or Business casual & Closed toe shoes Education and Experience: High School Diploma or G.E.D Minimum 2- years medical practice experience preferred Cardiology experience preferred Working knowledge with computers Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills Knowledge of HIPAA rules & regulations. Knowledge of diagnostic testing and procedures, preferred. Knowledge of basic mathematics. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Internet. Summary The Consult Coordinator is responsible for c oordinating in-patient consults from our referring hospitals to our Physicians and APP’s.
