Registered Nurse Cardiac Tele

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years RN experience, with 1 year in specialty required. License: Valid RN license required. Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred. Must-Have: Telemetry skills required. Experience with cardiac telemetry, central line management, and blood administration preferred. Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiac Tele. The patient population includes pre and post cardiac catheterization patients and overflow from the emergency department. Responsibilities include pulling arterial and venous sheaths post-cardiac procedures and managing TR bands, pacemakers, defibrillators, and Watchman devices. Patients are typically discharged 24-48 hours post-procedure unless a CABG consult is deemed necessary. In those cases, patients are either set up for open-heart surgery or transferred to an appropriate unit based on their needs. Some patients may be in observation status from the emergency department, receiving procedures and discharge within 36 hours. Chest tubes and critical drips are not managed in this unit. The only drips managed include nitroglycerin, Angiomax, heparin, electrolytes, fluids, and antibiotics. Common patient diagnoses include NSTEMI, STEMI, congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, bradycardia, tachycardia, and heart blocks. The RN will work a 3x12 hour night schedule from 19:30 to 07:00, with every other weekend required. Nursing ratios are typically 1:5 for days, nights, and weekends. First-time travelers are welcome provided they have relevant cardiac experience. RTO should be limited to one major holiday, and blocked schedules cannot be guaranteed. Candidates must have a permanent address greater than 100 miles from the facility to qualify. Flu vaccinations are required, with medical exemptions accepted. Covid vaccinations are not required.
