Litigation Paralegal Location: Tampa, FL (Firm covers parking, free gym) Salary: $80K - $90K + Excellent Benefits Type: Full-Time / Permanent Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm or 9:00am - 5:30pm (37.5 hours/week) Work Environment: Onsite for first 6 months. Hybrid (2 days WFH) after 6 months. Required Experience: 5 years of extensive litigation secretarial/assistant experience in a law firm; casualty/civil litigation preferred. Referral Fee: AMS will pay $500. Job Description Reputable law firm seeks a Paralegal with civil defense litigation experience. The ideal candidate must have experience in case management, document production, working with experts, review of medical records, medical chronologies, discovery investigation, discovery responses, trial preparation, and experience working with State and Federal courts. The position requires exceptional oral and written skills, the ability to manage and prioritize a large volume of caseload, work in a team environment, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Responsibilities Document Management: Obtain, organize, review, and summarize documents. Document Production: Organize, review, and index records. Draft requests for medical, employment, and other pertinent records. Medical Records: Organize and prepare outlines, narrative summaries, and medical chronologies. Database Management: Set up and maintain Summation database as needed. Discovery: Prepare indexes to depositions and exhibits. Draft discovery and pleadings (interrogatories, requests for admissions/production, notices of taking depositions). Monitor production of records. Contact witnesses, investigators, and experts. Field Work: Travel to accident scenes and impound yards to photograph evidence. Travel to meet and interview witnesses. Scheduling: Manage attorney calendars for depositions, conferences, and mediations. Administrative: Prepare accurate time sheets, review correspondence, and prepare demonstrative aids (posters, PowerPoint) for mediations and trials. Trial Support: Prepare witness/exhibit disclosures, attend exhibit reviews, prepare trial notebooks/exhibits, coordinate/supervise trial teams, and attend trial. Training: Assist in training new hires and provide coverage for other paralegals. Flexibility: Ability to work overtime as needed. Qualifications A.S. degree in paralegal studies and a paralegal certificate, B.A. in paralegal studies or other field, or equivalent experience. 5 years of law firm experience. Ability to produce accurate work product in a timely manner. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and under pressure to meet deadlines. Ability to travel as needed. Team player.
